"My Heart Wants to Sing"

Oh "my heart wants to sing
like a happy lark in the tree"
my heart wants to soar
as if it has snowy wings...

For it is filled with a joy so great -
that it's going to burst at the seams!
it is filled with so much hope for the future -
it's impossible to think of anything but joy!
it is full of so much love -
that it could love the whole wide world!

For it is such a long, long time -
that life is filled with misery;
it has been so, so long ago -
that the sweetness of joy is long forgotten;
it has been a long, long time of loneliness
but now life is no longer a long, tedious road to travel, alone,
it has been like a whole century of pining and suffering -
but now it's a joyous path of adventure and rediscovery...

It is a joy like the taste of good wine -
as it is swirled in every corner of the mouth:
Sweet, yet intoxicating...
satisfying, yet craving for more...

  1. The writer expresses with great joy as if she had finally found the treasure that was buried in her garden for a long, long time. It is as though the chains were broken and she is free. The key that unlock the prison door and she could see again the beautiful of the morning sunlight and smells the flowers and feel the grass of green pastures with the light breeze blowing into her face. She speaks with great authority of a connoisseur, knowing the year of the best grapes, as she swirled the wine in every corner of her mouth. Glad that you have found who you are and what you love to do as freedom/liberty awaits you in the future.

  2. Yes, found her long-forgotten buried treasure: the decision to accept the oli e branch or rose branch offered, and lead a happy, carefree life - looking ahead with all the hope and all the joy of li ing instead of looking back and harping on all her grouses and complaints... and today she would like to share a lo ely piece of peotry that she had read:

    TAKE SOME TIME
take some time to smell the flowers
as you walk the paths of life.
take some time to ease the tensions
    From the challenges and strife.

Take some time to hear the birds sing
as they usher in the dawn.
though the day be just emerging,
too soon it will be gone.

Take time to watch a sunrise,
now and then a sunset too.
just be sure that seeking pleasure
    isn't all you eer do.

Take some time to count your blessings,
though you feel they're not that great.
    you'll find they're more abundant
than you thought, at any rate.

Take some time to banish hatred
    when and where you can.
    just detest man's eil ways
    and not your fellow man.

Take some time to loe your children
e ery moment you are free.
    the benefits exceed
    a uniersity degree.

Take some time to lo e your neighbour
    and more important still,
take some time to lo e yourself
    or not many others will.

And if you don't like that image
    of yourself that others see,
take some time to make some changes,
be the best that you can be.

Take some time to help another
whom you think might need a hand.
    you will find the satisfaction
lea es you feeling sort of grand.

Take some time to lie by irtue
in the best way that is known,
and respect the rights of others
    as equal to your own.

Take some time to just appreciate
the fact that you are here,
and to know that Higher Power
and to trust It without fear.

If you do these thingswith diligence
you will e entually be glad.
if you don't attempt to do them
you may one day wish you had.

Although this no doubt could impose
upon your time for seeking ealth,
    there should be little question
that it could improe your health.

And though you might not be as wealthy
nor drie so fine a car,
you'll find you will be richer
    in other ways by far.

I really think it's the most beautiful poem (written by Leon Hansen).

  3. Generally we are so caught up in the rat race. This is what the world preconceives as “survival” so that we may provide/give comfort and security to our dear ones and also to have recognitions/status in society. The poem writer gently reminds us that in life, one must be discerning in having the right time management and with wisdom in knowing between good/evil. There is time for everything. There is time to laugh/cry, happy/sad, love/hate and time to be alone and be refreshed/recharged….. Our Creator is fair to all his creations whether good/evil. So you and I don get an extra hour or mins/second as what already had been given. So do spent quality time with your love ones and do good deeds while it is still called day. It also speaks of intangible/tangible, riches’ of the heart and the material wealth. Many things can’t be purchase with money such as “true love”, “trust worthy friends”, “happiness/joy” .. . Showing tender and loving care for the needy/destitute which may requires our time. Last but not least, acknowledge that all good things comes from the Creator and be always thankful for what you and I have/don have and for who we are.

  4. I do agree with you and Leon Hansen in saying that we should give love and care where it is most needed: we will not be any poorer (except that we might not accumulate so much material wealth) but in giving joy and peace to another needy soul, we do satisfy our own needs as well!

For if i give - it would be deep down -
from the secret reaches of my heart and soul,
if i give - it would be giving away
what is, and always has truly been a part of me,

For there is no way that i could
just give a little, keep a little,
or promise the sky, but give a hilltop -
for it would not have been me, to give sparingly

So i do agree and will take some time
to ponder over life, and the friends around me,
and i will surely give what i can
to help a fellow man - if he is suffering so...

For no man should be left to suffer -
as long as i am able to ease his pain...
and no one is to tell me what i should, or shouldn't do:
coz i have decided and know what i should or shouldn't do...
